Meals
For those going on the cruise tour combined package, Your lodging and transportation are all included, meals are on your own for the most part. A lunch is provided on the bus ride into Denali Park. Some Hotels may offer a breakfast included, and is subject to the policy of the hotel. However, we do offer a a meal plan that covers meals for the land portion and this can be added to your reservation in advance.
Once on board the ship, meals and beverages are included, premium Wi-Fi, $100 shore excursion credit, one-night specialty dining, and all gratuities. You have the option of providing additional tips for good service if you wish.
Flights and Transfers
We can provide you with air ticketing if you desire. We do recommend flying from the East Coast with a stop in Seattle overnight to break your trip apart. Then, leave out the next morning to Fairbanks. Once in Fairbanks, you will be greeted by a Holland America representative at the baggage claim area and provided more information about your itinerary. they will escort you to a motorcoach that will take you to your hotel.
Packing: You can pack a one bag for what you need for the land portion, and then leave your "cruise bag" with the transfer teams. They will make sure your bag gets onboard the ship saving you from lugging an extra bag around for the land portion. We typically packed two bags when traveling, one bag my wife and I shared on the land portion with our clothes needed, and then we had the other bag delivered to the ship. Just a tip.
As you travel on the land portion, you will be transported using the motorcoaches and trains to each location. This will all be covered on your first day with the team on the ground in Fairbanks. The train provides snacks and drinks, with a meal car on the lower portion of the car. They have a menu with pricing provided.
Payment and Refunds
Please refer to terms and conditions for payment and cancellation terms, located at the bottom of this page.
Insurance
We highly recommend having travel insurance in addition to your regular medical coverage. Insurance is important in case you are sick or injured before the trip and can't go, as well as covering your flights, baggage, emergency medical and accidents, and if you need to be air lifted off the ship to a proper medical facility. Your US health care insurance is not accepted on board the ship and you would be required to pay for any services rendered at sea.
We provide quotes for insurance protection as a service to all our clients.

Your Cruisetour begins at your downtown Fairbanks hotel.
Fairbanks, Alaska
Bearing the nickname the Golden Heart, Alaska’s second-largest city was born of gold rush fever, thanks to Italian immigrant Felix Pedro who found the precious metal in 1902 near where Captain E.T. Barnette decided to build a trading post on the banks of the Chena River. Explore Fairbanks on an Alaska cruise today. Fairbanks is an amalgam of modern shops and malls, its history is celebrated at the 18-hectare (44-acre) Pioneer Park, which includes a Gold Rush Town with 35 restored buildings. Fairbanks also preserved its City Hall, which now houses the Fairbanks Community Museum. The city’s location in Alaska’s interior makes it a gateway to the arctic, and in summer tourist boats run cruises along the Chena and Tanana rivers. Fairbanks is a city of festivals, from July’s Golden Days commemorating its past, to Ice Alaska in February and March, when residents make the best of its brutal winters by playing host to a slew of international ice sculptors who descend on the city for the World Ice Art Championships. The city is one of the best places in the world to see the aurora borealis, which appears on average 243 nights of the year. Book an Alaska cruise excursion to view the Aurora Borealis. See the beautiful and colorful patterns in the sky as you gaze upon the Northern Lights. For more insight into Fairbanks and to learn about history of Alaska visit the Morris Thompson Cultural & Visitors Center.
Denali & Rail Experience
Day 2: After a step back in time aboard the sternwheeler Riverboat Discovery (lunch included), it's off to Denali for a leisurely three night stay at this magnificent national treasure.
Day 3: Today features the unforgettable Tundra Wilderness Tour. This 5 - 6 hour, fully narrated sightseeing excursion takes you into the heart of Denali National Park. The tour will go to mile 43 because of road construction but will continue to offer the best opportunity to view Denali’s iconic wildlife and North America’s tallest peak. (snack included) * Tundra Wilderness Tour may change times or date.
Day 4: Explore on your own or take optional excursions with an entire free day in Denali. Don't miss the chance to visit Denali Square and immerse yourself in the Denali experience.
Denali is the number one reason to book Alaska cruisetours into the state’s rugged wilderness and it’s easy to understand why. At an impressive 20,310 feet above sea level, Denali isn’t just any mountain; it’s the centerpiece of Alaska’s interior, a shining jewel rising above pristine Alaska wilderness. Good news if you want more than just a glimpse of “the Great One.” When you book a cruisetour, you can settle in for up to three nights and get a true sense of North America’s tallest mountain.
Denali Square™ at the Holland America Denali Lodge is the ultimate base camp. Spend your days sightseeing at Denali and the evenings winding down in creature comfort. Enjoy stunning views across the Nenana River into Denali National Park from virtually anywhere on the grounds, as well as upscale dining, quality entertainment, and local shopping.

Hubbard Glacier and Glacier Bay
Cruise the ice-studded fjords of this national treasure for a full eight hours as a Park Service Ranger narrates.
On your cruise to Glacier Bay, close your eyes and take in the sounds—the creaks and groans of “living” ice, the shrill cries of gulls and soaring eagles, the splash of a breaching humpback whale. Frosted peaks towering over mossy forests, wide tidewater glaciers (there are seven in the park), and marine wildlife are givens on Glacier Bay cruises, but every experience in this changing biosphere is unique.
Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve is best explored on an Alaska Cruise or an Alaska Land+ Sea Journey cruise tour. Our ships are perfectly sized for the optimal experience. Prepare for inclement weather, even in summer and dress for rain. Pack a hat, gloves, wool or fleece layers, a warm coat and waterproof gear to comfortably admire the landscape from the open deck of your ship. There are glaciers, fjords, inlets, rivers, streams and wildlife galore on Glacier Bay cruises, so bring those binoculars.
Glacier Bay with the Experts
On our Glacier Bay cruises and Alaska Land+Sea Journey cruise tours, local experts come aboard for an experience that is both filled with natural wonder and enriching.
An Alaska cruise toward Hubbard Glacier feels like you’re approaching another planet in a tiny space craft. It is that big and that otherworldly. Among all the vanishing Alaska glaciers, Hubbard has a rapidly advancing ice margin— up to seven feet in one day—earning it the nickname, “the Galloping Glacier.”

Ports of Call
Whittier (Day 1)

Whittier is nestled at the base of mountains that line Passage Canal, a fjord that extends into Prince William Sound. The surrounding peaks are snowcapped for most of the year and a glacier hangs above the town to the west. Whittier is a berry picker's paradise with blueberries and salmonberries growing in abundance at the edge of town.
Cruise Hubbard Glacier, U.S.A. (Day 2)
Glacier Bay (Day 3)

Skagway (Day 4)

With its colorful history Skagway is one of the most interesting and bustling towns of the Inside Passage. Skagway was born during the Gold Rush of 1898 when more than 10,000 adventurers used the community as the starting point of their hunt for gold. Now, nature has reclaimed the land, offering visitors the opportunity to explore the rainforest, visit historic ruins, breathe in the fresh mountain air.
Juneau (Day 5)

Ketchikan (Day 6)

Ketchikan was originally founded as a Native American fishery before growing during the 1898 Gold Rush to the Klondike. Much of the town's colorful past is still evident, both in the city center and especially in the nearby Native American villages, where visitors will be enchanted by colorfully carved totem poles and the fascinating legends that surround them.
Cruising Inside Passage (Day 7)

Vancouver (Day 8)

Most of Canada's imports from and exports to the Orient and Australia pass through Vancouver, Canada's gateway to the Pacific. From the harbor entrance, spot the Lion's Gate, made up of twin mountain peaks closely resembling crouching lions. Visitors enjoy discovering this cosmopolitan city, from the shops of Robson Street to historic Gastown.
